Who owns Indie Investments?
Indie Investments is privately owned and was founded in 2015 by a team of passionate professionals with backgrounds in finance, technology, and agriculture.
Is Indie Investments regulated?
Yes. Indie Investments is regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) in South Africa. We are committed to full regulatory compliance and transparency.
What BEE Level is Indie Investments?
Indie Investments is committed to transformation and economic empowerment. Our BEE level reflects our dedication to inclusive growth and supporting previously disadvantaged communities.
Can I declare tax on my returns?
Yes, all returns from your investments are taxable and should be declared to the South African Revenue Service (SARS). We recommend consulting with a tax professional for personalized advice.
I am not in South Africa. Can I also invest?
Yes! We have investors from 5 continents. Our platform is fully digital and accessible worldwide. You can invest from anywhere in the world.
What investment products are available?
We offer a range of investment products including Cattle Growth Plan, Pregnant Cow Plan, Crowdfarm Plan, Solar Infrastructure, Delivery Business Plan, and Private Livestock Ownership.
Is my return or profit guaranteed?
Returns are projected targets, not guarantees. However, our track record shows consistent performance. All investments carry risk, and we encourage you to read our terms carefully.
What is the minimum investment?
The minimum investment varies by plan. Our Cattle Growth Plan starts from R2,500, making investing accessible to a wide range of investors.
How do I receive profits or get paid out?
Payouts are made automatically to your registered bank account at harvest time. You can also reinvest your earnings to compound your returns.
Do I receive a profit on my investment on a monthly basis?
Most of our plans pay out at the end of the investment term (harvest). Some plans, like the Delivery Business Plan, may offer monthly income potential.
Is it possible to continuously invest towards an investment product?
Yes! You can make additional investments into your chosen products at any time. This allows you to grow your portfolio gradually.
Can I withdraw my funds early?
Early withdrawals may be subject to terms and conditions of your specific investment plan. Please refer to your agreement or contact our support team.
When an investment reaches maturity, what options do I have?
When your investment matures, you can choose to withdraw your returns, reinvest them, or explore new investment opportunities on our platform.
Where are the farms located?
Our partner farms are located across South Africa including Lichtenburg, Durban, Matatiele, Kokstad, Richmond, Venda, Senekal, Port Elizabeth, and Eswatini.
May I go see my cow/garden/tree?
For security and safety reasons, ad hoc visits are not permitted. However, Indie Investments hosts annual events at the farms to which investors are invited.
Is your farming ethical?
Yes. We partner with farmers who practice sustainable, ethical farming. Animals are treated with care and respect, and crops are grown responsibly.
How do I become a partner farmer?
Visit our Farmers page and fill out the application form. Our team will review your application and get in touch with you.
Why do farmers need investors?
Farmers need investors to access capital for expanding operations, purchasing equipment, and managing their farms. Investors provide the funding that enables growth.
Why do investors need farmers?
Investors need farmers to nurture and grow their assets. Farmers have the expertise, land, and experience to manage livestock and crops effectively.
Do you have a mobile app?
Yes! Our Indie Investments app is available on both iOS and Android. You can invest, track your portfolio, and manage your assets from anywhere.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit card, bank transfer, instant EFT, and bank debit on the app. Choose the method that works best for you.
How do I invest?
Simply register on our platform, choose your investment plan, and make your payment. It takes less than five minutes to start investing.
Is my money safe with Indie Investments?
Yes. We are FSCA regulated, audited by SNG Grant Thornton, and all assets are insured. We maintain robust risk management practices to protect your investment.
Can I switch to another pool once I've invested?
Switching between investment pools may be possible depending on the terms of your specific plan. Contact our support team for assistance.
What happens when my asset matures?
When your asset matures, the farmer buys it back at market value. Your investment plus profit is automatically paid to your registered bank account.
Do I still own my asset after the investment term has completed?
No. The asset is sold at harvest time, and you receive your investment plus profit. The ownership transfers to the buyer at the end of the term.
Is there a limit to the number of assets I can invest in?
No. You can invest in as many assets as you like, across different plans, to build a diversified portfolio.
Can I register my organisation onto the platform and invest as an organisation?
Yes! Investment clubs, companies, and trusts can register and invest on our platform. Contact our support team for more information.
